James [Maker]

At School, I loved Technical Drawing, Wood and Metal Work.

I went on to do Art & Design Foundation at Art College and then a Degree in Industrial Design and Engineering.

After Graduating with a BA in Industrial Design & Engineering I spent many years in Design Consultancy working on Product, Interior and Advertising Design and then I ventured into Computers, Programming and then MultiMedia, Video & Networks.

I worked as an Apple Corporate Systems Consultant …

but somewhere along the way I stopped ‘Making’ 🙁

So I followed the Dream … and I worked in Special Visual Effects in London and all was good for a very long time 🙂

For the past 15 years, I have started a range of Creative & Technical Business ventures…

but always the ‘Making’ was calling

And so I’m BACK!, here at IDM with 35 years of Creative Making, for you

Adam [Maker]

Thanks to my Dad’s engineering background and his love of Tolkien I already had a passion for model making, computers and the worlds of dungeons and dragons.

While at school I learned how to cast metal, work with plastic and how to shape wood, skills I will always be thankful for.

I completed a diploma in general Art and Design specialising in ceramics and sculpting, then continued on to another diploma in art and design focusing more on Graphic Design and Fine Art.

From there I gained a BA in Film and Photography specialising in Animation.I’ve had jobs constructing shop displays and running a local cinema (brilliant!) while also setting time aside to be a runner for feature films. In my spare time (yes I still had a bit) I gained coaching skills in my chosen sport of archery, winning several county competitions and running the junior county archery squad.

Since then my career has been focused in the Design Industry helping to create Graphics and Packaging solutions for many major Brands worldwide.

My passion for D&D, comics, movies, sci-fi, manga, and costumes has increased over time and has reached the point that I want to share what I know and help others to realise there dreams…

Im interested in a lawgiver mk2 from Dredd , i want to add it to WE G18 airsoft pistol, and wanted to know how much it would cost.

      Hi Rick,

      That is an exciting idea.
We have made a few Judge Dredd LawGivers as AirSoft.

There is an issue with legality, age and laws … one has to be a registered member of a gun club or Airsoft gun club or association.
Then there is the challenge of shipping what the authorities class as a ‘live weapon’ !

We do supply a KIT on our web shop and have Manuals, Photo’s and Support to see ‘you’ through your self-Build.

      Kind regards,

      James [maker] IDM

Hello, i was wondering how much it would cost as well as if it would even be possible to create black headphones with the google chrome logo on both outer sides that can light up. They do not need to produce sound or anything. ☺
